We live in a society where we link our worth with doing things that bring financial rewards and status. The result of this is that we work hard all the time and it can drain our energy. When we are linked to nature and are in nature we can slow down. We can reconnect to that sense of being rather than that of doing.

Getting outdoors doesn’t have to be a lot of work. There are lots of simple ways you can get quality time in nature. One can go for walks or runs outside. It is not just a change of mood but a change of scenery. One can also take a bike ride along a trail or go camping and hike for a weekend. Another activity that one can inculcate is gardening. Staying close to nature in the truest form by having plants around you can be extremely calming. Another very important aspect that can be added is that one can move their workouts outdoors and even meditate or do yoga outdoors. If nothing else, one can read a book in a park and just enjoy sitting on the grass. These are just a handful of activities you can do to reap the mental health benefits of the outdoors.
