Working With Me

What Empower means to me: Finding your own unique voice on your journey to self-love. It’s about doing what makes you happy despite hearing the other voices and being compassionate towards yourself while doing it.

My Philosophy: Everything in your life happens for a reason and only makes you stronger. There is value and beauty even in times of difficulty and pain. You unlock the key to your own happiness and freedom. I love this quote by Maya Angelou that says, “You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”

What sessions with me look like: Sessions with me will be a warm and safe space for you to discuss what’s really on your mind. The first part of the change process is talking about what’s going on so that you feel powerfully heard and understood. This sets the stage for us to start making real changes in the way you think and feel. We will work together to create goals for you that are achievable, healthy, and realistic.

We are all multicultural human beings varying in race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sexuality, class, and so much more. My goal is to ensure that every part of you feels embraced and understood in our sessions. Your cultural background inevitably impacts how you walk through the world and has shaped you into the person that you are. This is what makes you YOU! I can help you make sense of your world, embrace your individuality, and help make a place that once felt foreign, finally feel like home.

More About Me

Navigating my own cultural identity, school life, and relationships helped me learn a lot about human behavior. From a young age, I have always been curious about why people behave the way they do. I naturally enjoyed listening to my friends talk about their lives and have always been perceptive of people’s feelings. As a therapist, I enjoy talking to people from all walks of life and getting to understand people beneath the surface.

After learning how to be a counselor through my education, I felt more understood, open-minded, and confident. I looked back at the person I was before, and thought to myself, “Wow, I really bloomed”. This is when I learned that true happiness is possible, and we never stay in difficult times forever. What feels like a lifetime of pain can turn into something beautiful.

Seeing how I have overcome my personal challenges and hardships has further strengthened my desire to become a therapist and show others that they are capable of doing the same. I truly feel that I was meant to do this work. I want others to know that they are not alone. Things do get better. There is always hope.
