Working With Me

What Empower means to me: Discovering your inner strengths and drawing on them to achieve your goals. Empowerment is a sense of inner freedom that leads to actions that help you to feel fully in control of your own life.

My Philosophy: I believe every person holds the power inside of them to create the change they seek. My goal as your therapist is to help you uncover that power and direct it toward the paths that will lead you toward a life of fulfillment. Though we cannot rewrite the past, your story is not over yet.

What sessions with me look like: Our sessions are built around what you would like to gain from your experience. Through our work together, I will challenge you to strengthen your self-awareness, address the thoughts and behaviors that prevent you from achieving your goals, and guide you toward living a life in accordance with your values.

I primarily work from a Dialectical Behavior Therapy framework, and may incorporate Exposure and Response Prevention, as well as parts work informed by Internal Family Systems theory. This combination allows us to build practice skills that suit your needs, understand the different parts of you shaped by your past experiences, and overcome the fears that hold you back from doing what matters most to you.

Being open and vulnerable can be uncomfortable and scary. My office is a safe space for you to share your thoughts and feelings without judgment. I want to hear what you have to say and meet you exactly as you are.

More About Me

I have known I wanted to be a therapist since I was 15 years old. My own struggles with mental health led me to discover the power of counseling and how having just one person to listen can make all the difference.

My calling to help others guided me through receiving my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and licensure in New York State. I served on the Executive Board for Counselors for Social Justice, a division of the American Counseling Association focused on dismantling oppressive, systemic barriers that impact counselors and their clients. Now, having worked directly with clients over several years and watched them grow into their authentic selves, I am confident I’ve truly found my purpose in life as a Mental Health Counselor.

I would be happy to answer any questions you have. Please call me for a free 15-minute phone consultation.
