Confidence is a word that many of us know, and while for some of us it might be easy to draw upon confidence in our everyday lives; a lot of us find it  difficult to engage in.

Self-Confidence stems from our abilities and what we believe we are capable of. It is how we feel about ourselves and our capability of achieving external-based goals. Someone who has confidence in themselves will most likely feel ready, capable in most situations, or feel as if they are able to rise to the challenge when faced with difficult situations.

The good news is that we can build confidence in ourselves just like we would build muscle or endurance! Here are a few ways you can start to build confidence.

How to Be More Confident

  1. Change the way you speak to yourself
  2. We often speak to ourselves much harsher than we would those around us, and this can contribute to our inability to feel confident and capable.
  3.  Build Mastery
  4.  Do one thing every day, no matter how big or small. This helps us achieve our goals and build our sense of competence and confidence in ourselves.
  5.  Maintain boundaries with yourself and others.
  6.  Learn to say no. Ask for help when you need it.
  7.  Don’t be afraid to take up space and communicate your wants and needs.
  8.  Engage in self-care
  9.  Much like changing the way we speak to ourselves, when we engage in self-care, we are setting ourselves up to face each day with a filled cup. Taking care of ourselves both physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally is the best way to feel like the best version of ourselves and naturally feeds into our confidence.
  10.  Creative affirmations centered around confidence.
  11.  Say it out loud, write it down – again and again!

Building confidence can be daunting at first if it’s not something we’re used to. But we can work to set ourselves up for success and remind ourselves how resilient and capable we truly are!

Think different, do more, worry less.
