Working With Me

What Empower means to me: Providing a space for clients to unapologetically explore their inner needs and desires, supporting them to utilize their strengths to express these needs through empathetic support.

My Philosophy: As individuals, we search for safety, and I believe this begins with finding safety within ourselves. I believe in supporting individuals in learning their strengths to aid in developing trust internally, and learning to translate this into their lives acting as their own best advocate.

What sessions with me look like: My modality is client focused/strength-based therapy with an emphasis on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I believe in approaching each individual as they would like to be seen, and I work hard to develop an understanding based in acceptance, a passion for learning, and empathy. I work with individuals to provide a judgement free and safe space to explore how they experience their relationship with themselves, their relationship with others, and their environment. I also work with individuals to develop skills to confront and process emotions, life experiences and relationships which all impact the lens in how they perceive the world around them. My belief is that everyone is capable of living the life they have envisioned for themselves, and therapy helps to better understand where the journey begins for healing, finding safety, and believing in yourself.

More About Me

Since I can remember, I have had an interest in learning about people, what they like, what makes them happy, and how they perceive the world around them. I had the opportunity to see how beneficial self-discovery is, and this fueled my passion to enter into the mental health field.

My passion, once I began practicing, has been working with eating disorders. I began studying weight perceptions in society for my thesis in graduate school in 2016 and began working with eating disorders in May 2018. I have experience working with clients at outpatient, IOP, PHP and residential settings. My patience, tenacity, and personal approach to every client makes me a strong, supportive, and caring resource to aiding in the care and well-being of my clients.

While working in eating disorders, I became aware of the harm that neurodiverse individuals experience in traditional treatment. I believe in personalized and sustainable approaches that encompass all abilities of individuals. I hope to be a clinician who provides a safe space for clients to explore how neurodiversity impacts their eating disorders, as well as other distressing experiences (including sensory processing, communication, and emotional sensations) that impact neurodivergent individuals daily.
