Working With Me

What Empower means to me: Accepting your own unique self by exploring what that means to you. Often, this involves acquiring skills to help you live your best life. Many times, it also means staying honest with yourself and others to move forward, empowering the change necessary to live in the present with that acceptance.

My Philosophy: My philosophy is accepting I cannot change anyone but myself, but I can change how I react to or view the world around me.

What sessions with me look like: A therapy session with me involves building a safe space where you can explore and express your thoughts, feelings, and emotions in an empathetic, non-judgmental, and collaborative environment that allows you to create your own path. Change and growth are not easy, but you will not be alone as we work together to find ways to enhance your self-awareness, sense of acceptance, and achieve your goals.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

More About Me

In 2013, after a long break from education, I decided to re-enroll in a program to earn my degree in Labor Law, initially with pre-law in mind. As graduation approached and I explored law schools, I realized it wasn’t too late to embrace my authentic self. I made the difficult but fulfilling decision to forgo law school and instead pursue a master’s in mental health counseling—an area not only deeply personal to me but also critically needed in my rural community.

In 2023, I earned a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Pace University. I completed my yearlong internship with Empower Your Mind Therapy and, after graduation, joined the team, where I currently practice. At every stage of my journey as a therapist, I remain committed to advocating for improved mental healthcare in our communities.

Yesterday is Gone. Tomorrow has not come. We only have today. Let us begin.
