Working With Me

What Empower means to me: To me, empowerment means being able to give something the best chance you’ve got, no matter the result. It’s being able to see every effort as meaningful,  and recognize that every experience is an opportunity to grow.

My Philosophy: “Time stops for no one’s misery” is something I’ve followed throughout my journey, not to try and minimize pain, but because it acknowledges reality while still honoring suffering. For me, this perspective is about empowerment rather than dismissal: recognizing that even in moments of grief, trauma, or despair, time continues, and with it comes opportunities for choice, meaning, and self-compassion. It’s a reminder that moving forward doesn’t require being healed, only being willing to live alongside what hurts as we continue throughout our days.

What sessions with me look like: Whether you’re beginning therapy for the first time, or restarting your journey with me, this process will be met with compassion and a drive to understand who you are. In our sessions, we will work towards creating a safe space for you to express yourself in all forms of vulnerability. At your pace, we will explore the different facets of your identity and what experiences made you the person that you are today. We will work together to learn new socio-emotional skills that can be used both inside and outside of session to manage everyday challenges in life. Together, we will be able to find clarity around patterns and emotions that you want to explore, in order to work towards strengthening the parts of yourself that feel most authentic to you.

EDUCATION

Weissman School of Arts and Sciences at CUNY Baruch College, Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling, Expected to graduate: June 2027

Hobart and Williams Smith College, Bachelor of Arts in Psychological Sciences with a Minor in Child Advocacy. Graduation Year: 2024

As someone who grew up in the Bronx, I saw the negative consequences of young teens being denied access to mental health resources. My friends were able to rely on me to be there for them because they knew that at home, discussing anything related to their mental well-being was considered taboo in their households. This sparked my interest in the psychology field at a young age, which only grew stronger as I began working with children and adolescents. I am motivated to destigmatize mental health within POC households and hope to provide resources to those who may not know where to start.

I love being able to see how people begin to flourish when they receive the individualized support they need. Too often, resources are designed to group everyone together, which can overlook the unique needs of individuals who require support beyond the bare minimum. I have found 1:1  work to be the most fruitful, which is why I love working in the mental health space. Through this work, I have come to deeply value an intersectional approach and the importance of advocating for resources that are responsive to each person’s lived experiences.
