Working With Me

What Empower means to me: The ability to come home to yourself again and again. Trusting that you are worthy and lovable exactly as you are, and that you are on a path of claiming yourself and letting go of what no longer serves.

My Philosophy: Growth and freedom are always possible, especially as we learn to approach ourselves with kindness and self-compassion. And it’s a privilege to accompany anyone seeking ways to heal and live more fully.

What sessions with me look like: This is your time, and together we will create a welcoming space for all the different parts of you to show up. Wherever you are, I will meet you with curiosity, presence, and support. As an integrated therapist, I employ a mix of modalities, including person-centered, narrative, and DBT, depending upon your unique needs and circumstances. We will identify the places where you get stuck and feel disconnected, and apply insight and skills to help eliminate the obstacles to living a more nourished, fulfilling existence. Every life comes with difficulties and suffering, but as we progress, you can expect to gain greater clarity and connection. I will also encourage you to see stories and circumstances from different perspectives so that you can lean into the growth that you desire. I believe, as the teacher Ram Dass said, “We are all just walking each other home.” Our sessions will help you feel more at home in all aspects of yourself.

EDUCATION

Baruch College
Working towards completing an M.A., Mental Health Counseling

B.A., History

After working as a journalist and writer, I decided to change careers, study mental health counseling and become a therapist because I want to help alleviate pain and suffering. I believe that the impact of one individual feeling better radiates out to their family, community and beyond, bringing positivity to the world. Having seen the benefits of therapy and studied complementary tools like mindfulness, yoga, and intuitive painting, I feel called to the work.

A few years ago, I researched and wrote the books Morning Rituals, Restorative Rituals, and Love Rituals. They are chock full of suggestions for simple actions that can lead to a richer, fuller and more satisfying life. I also highlighted common roadblocks within daily routines, self-care, and relationships, and provided tactics and approaches to help overcome obstacles and find greater freedom and joy. I bring this same creativity and spirit to my work with my clients.
