Working With Me
What Empower means to me: To me, empowerment means guiding you in recognizing and reaching your full potential. Everybody deserves to live a happy and complete life, and empowerment is an important factor on the road to achieving one.
My Philosophy: I strongly believe that we all have the potential to change and reach our ideal self when we are provided with appropriate, growth-promoting conditions. I love the quote, “Real change, enduring change, happens one step at a time,” by Ruth Bader Ginsberg. It is important to remember that change is not linear; it does not look the same for everyone, and often, we take steps backward in the process. My goal as a therapist is to support you throughout the steps you will take toward positive change.
What sessions with me look like: In sessions with me, I can be somebody you can trust and rely on in your most vulnerable of times. Therapy can be intimidating, especially for a first-time client who may be unfamiliar with the process. Sessions with me will be judgment free – my goal is to allow you to feel comfortable and accepted.
This will be a place for you to express any fears, anxieties, or shame; and together, we can explore and challenge these feelings. You will always feel that you have autonomy and the ability to make your own decisions and create personalized, achievable goals. We will work together to help you learn new life-long skills and tools to manage your stressors. You are not alone in your journey, and I can help you get to a place where you can enjoy your life and be your most authentic self.

More About Me
For many years, and perhaps ever since my childhood, I have had an overwhelming feeling that my purpose in the world is to help others. I always took interest in how the people around me thought, felt, and behaved. I have a strong desire to support vulnerable people and groups, as well as those who simply need a helping hand on their journey to greater life satisfaction. When I first began studying psychology, I quickly realized that mental health issues are far more common than I initially thought, and that they exist in all populations, independent of race, ethnicity, sexual identity, gender, religion, etc. I recognized the incredible effects that therapy can have on people. I immediately knew that this was when I was meant to do, leading to my pursuit of a career in Mental Health Counseling.
As I complete my Master’s program in Mental Health Counseling at Pace University, I strive to help all my clients feel confident, worthy, and able. I want to empower you and help you discover that you are deserving of a life worth living.
