Working With Me
What Empower means to me: Empowerment to me means taking the necessary steps towards becoming the best version of yourself by taking control over your own life. Empowerment is living every day to the fullest through self-love and acceptance.
My Philosophy: We are not perfect beings, but we are beings that have the ability to continually work on ourselves, for better or for worse. We have the ability to take control of our lives and choose happiness, healing, and strength. We all have the ability to overcome adversity and persevere and come out stronger because of it! With proper support and unconditional acceptance, I am here to help rebuild that strength and help you realize that you’ve had that strength within you all along.
What sessions with me look like: Many believe that the one who causes the most change within therapy is the therapist, however none of that change would be possible without the hard work of the client. Through a person-centered approach, the sessions are focused on your therapeutic needs and we work in more of a partnership as I am your biggest supporter. I want to push you to reach your goals that we have agreed upon. There isn’t a one size fits all method of therapy, so each session will be directly catered to you.
Our sessions are completely free of any judgment. You are encouraged to be your true and authentic self when we are meeting. I want you to understand that change and growth are a beautiful thing and the bumps in the road on the way are nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed by! The bumps in the road should be celebrated and acknowledged because they are going to shape you into the best possible version of yourself.

More About Me
I always knew that my calling was to help people in some sort of capacity, but I never knew how. I started out by studying education because I was told I would make a great and fun teacher. However, I came to quickly realize that I needed to help people more than in an educational setting. I can continue to educate, but it is in a way that can help shape someone’s life for the better and really apply these skills to their everyday lives.
Becoming a therapist for me was a necessary step in being able to better understand people and get to be a better friend to those around me. Many people wonder if I regret spending 4 years getting a Bachelors in a field that I am not pursuing, and my answer will always be no. My short time teaching and spending time with my students gave me the outlook that I have now. It afforded me the opportunity to see how much a child’s personal life had such an effect on their educational lives. It afforded me the chance to speak to students, teachers, and school personnel and really understand what my true calling was. Through these experiences and these different views on life I hope to be able to make a difference for many and touch the lives of those who have a session with me.
