Working With Me

What Empower means to me: Acceptance of your own unique self by exploring what that means to you. Often that means acquiring skills to help you live your best life, and many times it means staying honest with yourself and others to move forward and empower the change necessary to live in the present.

My Philosophy: My philosophy is accepting I cannot change anyone but myself, but I can change how I react to or view the world around me

What sessions with me look like: A therapy session with me looks like building a safe space where you can explore and express your thoughts, feelings, and emotions with an empathetic, non-judgmental, and collaborative experience that allows you to create your own path. Change and growth are not easy, but you will not be alone as we work toward finding ways to enhance your self-awareness, sense of acceptance, and goals.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. – Wayne Dyer

More About Me

In 2013, after a long period away from education, I decided to re-enroll in a program to get my Labor Law degree with pre-law in mind. As graduation approached and I was looking at law schools, I realized it is not too late to be my authentic self and forego law school. Instead, I was going to apply to a master’s program in mental health counseling, something not only needed in my rural area but close to my heart.

I am currently in my final year at Pace University in the master’s program for Mental Health Counseling. Each step of the way I plan on including advocacy for enhanced mental healthcare in our communities.

Yesterday is Gone. Tomorrow has not come. We only have today. Let us begin.
